The stalk ends with you. The mount doesn't have to.

A trophy handled badly is worse than no trophy at all. We treat the taxidermy with the same care as the stalk itself: nothing rushed, nothing handed to whoever's cheapest or quickest, and nothing left for you to chase up from another country.

We arrange it, we see it through to completion, and we ship the finished piece to your door. That's the whole job, start to finish, off your plate entirely.

How It Works

From the hill to your wall.

01 The cape and antlers are field-dressed properly on the hill, the same day, by people who know exactly how not to ruin a good trophy in the first ten minutes.
02 Once you're home, everything is passed to taxidermists in the Highlands we've worked with for years, not whoever answered the phone first.
03 You choose the style: a shoulder mount, a European skull mount, or a full mount, whatever suits the trophy and the wall it's going on.
04 Done properly, a mount takes time: reckon on six to nine months from cape to finished piece. That's normal for good taxidermy, not a delay.
05 Once it's finished, we arrange insured shipping direct to your door, wherever in the world that is, with the export paperwork handled at our end.

Choosing A Style

Shoulder Mount

The classic choice, head, neck and part of the shoulder
Suits most walls without dominating the room
The usual pick for a first stag

European Skull Mount

Cleaned, bleached skull and antlers only
Smaller, simpler, easier to ship and to hang
A good honest option if you'd rather the antlers speak for themselves

Full Mount

The whole animal, standing or in a chosen pose
The most involved and the most expensive of the three
Worth it only if you genuinely have the space and want it

Getting It Home

The part nobody thinks about until it matters.

Shipping a trophy across a border is where a lot of hunts quietly go wrong. Here is what actually happens, so you know what we are handling on your behalf.

01 Red deer is not a CITES-listed species, so no CITES permit is needed. That removes the single biggest source of delay and expense that catches people out on trophies from elsewhere in the world.
02 What does apply are the rules covering animal products crossing borders. The cape is tanned and the skull cleaned and treated to a standard that satisfies them, which is part of why good taxidermy takes months rather than weeks.
03 The finished piece is then certified as having been treated, and that documentation travels with it. A trophy arriving without it is a trophy sitting in a customs shed.
04 Import requirements differ by country. Guests bringing a trophy into the United States, for example, declare it to the US Fish and Wildlife Service and clear it through an approved port, which is usually handled by a customs broker at that end. Canada, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia each work differently again.
05 We confirm the current requirements for your destination before anything ships, arrange the documentation with our shipper, and send it insured and tracked to your door.

One honest note: import rules change, and the final say belongs to the authorities in your own country, not to us. What we commit to is knowing the current position for your destination before your trophy leaves Scotland, and telling you plainly if anything about it is likely to be awkward.
